Grade I listed Soane building of 1828 for exclusive-hire weddings, Marylebone, London
One Marylebone is a Grade I listed neo-classical former church designed by Sir John Soane and completed in 1828, hired exclusively for weddings in central London.
One Marylebone is a neo-classical former church designed by Sir John Soane and completed in 1828, now listed Grade I and hired only for weddings and events. It stands on Marylebone Road in central London beside Regent's Park, a few minutes from Great Portland Street, Regent's Park and Euston stations.
A wedding takes the whole building. Ceremonies are held in The Gallery, a room with arched windows, or in the Soane Hall, where columns rise to galleries and a painted apse. The hall can be lit in gold, blue or purple and arranged for a ceremony, a banquet or dancing. The Council Chamber and the stone Undercroft provide further rooms for the evening, and a private garden terrace is used for drinks. The Soane Hall seats around 200 and a standing reception can reach about 400. Approved caterers provide the food, and guests stay at hotels close by. The building is hired for the whole event, so ceremony, dinner and dancing all move through its rooms in turn.

One Marylebone was designed by Sir John Soane, architect of the Bank of England, and finished in 1828 as a church. Its Grade I listing protects a neo-classical interior of columns, galleries and a painted apse, now used solely for weddings and events.

The Soane Hall is the great room and can be lit gold, blue or purple, hung with blossom or paper canopies and set for a ceremony, a banquet and a dancefloor in turn. The Gallery, with arched windows, suits ceremonies, while the Council Chamber and the stone Undercroft add space for the evening.

Approved caterers cook for the day, so menus range from a formal seated dinner under the galleries to a large multicultural celebration. A private garden terrace gives guests a place for drinks, and nearby hotels take care of overnight stays.
