About Villa Nena

Villa Nena is a nineteenth-century neoclassical villa above Tolentino in the Marche, taken for a single wedding at a time, with a private chapel, formal gardens, frescoed salons, a pool and six bedrooms sleeping twelve.

Villa Nena is a neoclassical villa of the nineteenth century, raised on a hill above the medieval town of Tolentino in the green heart of the Marche. Honey-coloured stone, a colonnaded loggia, frescoed salons with chandeliers, a grand staircase and a private chapel sit within a tree-lined park of balustraded terraces, and a pool looks across the valley towards the Sibillini mountains.

The villa is taken by one wedding party at a time, with the gardens, pool and all six bedrooms reserved for them. Ceremonies of up to about 150 guests are held in the formal gardens and on the lawns, while the chapel holds around 40 for more intimate vows. Receptions move between the frescoed salons, which seat about 70, the loggia and a marquee on the lawns. Couples choose their own caterer, and menus are built around Marche produce with Verdicchio and the region's red wines. Ancona airport is about 50 minutes away by road.

A neoclassical villa above Tolentino

Villa Nena rises from a hill above Tolentino, a medieval town in the province of Macerata. Its honey-coloured facade is symmetrical, with a colonnaded loggia, and inside there are frescoed salons hung with chandeliers, parquet floors, a grand staircase and a private chapel. Balustraded terraces and a tree-lined park surround the house.

Ceremonies in the gardens and the chapel

Vows can be exchanged in the formal gardens or on the lawns, with space for up to about 150 guests, or in the chapel for around 40. The salons are also available for a ceremony. A blessing or symbolic service takes place at the villa, and the legal civil ceremony is held at the Tolentino comune.

Receptions in the salons, on the loggia and under a marquee

Dinner may be served among the frescoes in the salons, which seat about 70, on the loggia, or beneath a marquee on the lawns, where seated dining reaches around 100. Candlelit tables look over the valley as the lights of Tolentino come on below. Couples bring their own caterer and build menus around Marche produce.
