Tenuta San Masseo is a family-run boutique resort and exclusive-use wedding venue on the outskirts of Assisi. It sits in an olive grove park with a panoramic view of the town and the Umbrian hills, and the view is there by day and by night. A restored villa stands at the heart of the estate, with the park around it divided into areas for the different parts of a wedding. The surroundings are green countryside, and the resort is part of the Condè Nast Johansens luxury hotels collection.
A wedding here is a stay with family and friends, and the plans for a small, intimate wedding and for a large, emotional one are both worked out in advance. Exclusive use gives the couple the whole resort on the wedding day: the park, the ceremony and aperitivo areas, the Vista Cube and the rooms and suites. An in-resort wedding coordinating service gives full assistance with planning and with coordinating the day itself, and each offer is made personally, according to the dates, the guest numbers and the couple's preferences. The aim is a wedding that is stress free and easy to plan, and special requests are met wherever possible, so the day can be highly tailored.

The wedding ceremony is held at the wow view ceremony area, a part of the park reserved for the ceremony itself. This is the area set aside for the vows, apart from the spaces used for drinks and the party. Its panoramic view looks across to Assisi, so the town is in sight throughout the ceremony.
Drinks are served at the pool bar area, which has a view and several lounge areas for cocktails and aperitifs. The seated reception and the party are held in the Masseo Vista Cube, a glass marquee that seats up to 200 guests for dinner and keeps the view of Assisi even when it rains, so it works as both plan A and plan B. Wisteria & Vineyard is one of the areas of the park suited to family-style brunches. The setting suits the plan for any season, with the glass structure giving cover and the view in every weather.
The resort has 12 rooms and suites for up to 36 guests. In-house guests have a private spa with a sauna, hammam, hydromassage, halotherapy and a wellness room for massages and treatments, and there is an outside swimming pool. Many nearby hotels, some within walking distance, can take the rest of the guests. There is also a horse paddock, and e-bikes can be rented.
Resident catering covers the wedding reception, welcome parties and pool party lunches. A barbecue and pizza oven area suits welcome parties and pool parties. There is a panoramic glass bar on the estate as well as a hotel bar. Special packages include wine tours, olive oil tastings and cultural excursions, and excursion packages to discover Umbria come with private drivers and guides.
