Converted threshing barn, oast houses and designer gardens · Bentley, near Farnham
A former hop farm at Bentley, on the Surrey and Hampshire borders, where a Threshing Barn and an Oast House are taken for exclusive-use weddings.
Bury Court is a barn wedding venue at Bentley, near Farnham, in rolling countryside on the Surrey and Hampshire borders. The estate was once a productive hop farm, and its centrepiece is the Threshing Barn, which has been used for weddings, film shoots and corporate meetings. The Barn is set in woodland and grazing for horses, and the former farming land around it is set to crops. The estate keeps its Hop Kiln and Oast House, with working wind vanes for drying hops as part of the brewing process, now redesigned for the needs of couples. Together the old farm buildings give the place its fun and quirkiness.
A detailed script is what makes each wedding at Bury Court personal to the couple, much as it does in a period drama. A team of coordinators looks after the day so that it feels personal to the couple and their guests, whether the wedding is traditional or goes a little or a lot off piste. Weddings here are taken on an exclusive-use basis. Some decorations are supplied by Bury Court, and Vintage Prop Hire and Jones Flowers, independent suppliers with workshops in The Hopkiln, provide props and floral decoration for the estate and other venues. Couples with specific ideas, or who need help forming them, are encouraged to share their thoughts and wishes at a private viewing.

Indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces are spread across the estate. A ceremony can be held under cover or in the open air.

The Barn seats up to 150 guests for dinner and takes a standing reception of up to 200. It works like a stage set, with numerous ways to set it up and host a wedding, and it is handed over as open space for couples to arrange themselves. The team can design and dress it for those who need help. For the evening, entertainment is best hosted in the area at the barn door end. The entertainer can set up there with minimal disturbance during the meal. A sound limiter is located by the bar, and music is best placed furthest from it.

Bury Court has 15 rooms, including the Bridal Suite, sleeping up to 30 guests. The bedrooms in the Oast House were refurbished and new rooms were built in the stable courtyard. The accommodation is 14 double rooms and a bridal suite.

The Good Life, independent of Bury Court, runs a bar at the end of the Barn and serves wedding breakfasts with all sorts of menu options. It can also supply drinks and street food vans in the outdoor gardens. Bury Court offers seated meal facilities, private catering, kosher catering and dry hire, with an alcohol licence.

The converted threshing barn takes 160 for a ceremony and wedding breakfast, 200 for a party.
