One Aldwych in Covent Garden
One Aldwych is an independently owned five-star boutique hotel in a 1905 Edwardian building at the corner of Covent Garden, once home to The Morning Post newspaper. The daily paper was written, edited and printed within its walls until 1927, and the private rooms take their names from that past. There is no global brand behind the hotel, just one property and a team who look after it as their own. One Aldwych is also a certified B Corp, which means its social and environmental practices are independently verified rather than simply claimed.
A wedding here is looked after by the hotel's own team, from the ceremony to the reception, from the champagne to the flowers. The hotel can be taken for exclusive use, and the events team handles the details, from photography to entertainment. Flowers are designed by the in-house florist, who works to the couple's budget and shares sketches and design ideas. The hotel is boutique in scale, so service stays personal and the attention stays on the couple. At the end of the day, couples can spend the wedding night in one of the suites and know the thrill of waking up in Covent Garden as a married couple.
