Simone Perini was born and raised in Florence and has photographed weddings professionally since 2009. His studio is on Via di Ripoli, a short way from the centre of the city, and most of his weddings take place in Florence and the hills around it, though he also travels for destination weddings outside Tuscany.
His style is documentary at heart. He photographs the day as it unfolds, staying discreet so that he does not interrupt it, and adds a few modern, elegant portraits where a couple wants them. Couples who have never been in front of a camera are guided gently through those portraits. Traditional groups with family and friends are always taken, even though they rarely appear in his published stories.
“Joining you on your special day, I capture each emotion and unique moment. I am Simone Perini, your Tuscany wedding photographer, telling love stories through my lens.”
Simone Perini
His published weddings show the range: a civil ceremony under the open sky inside the roofless Abbey of San Galgano, a Greek couple's religious ceremony and portraits by the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, a winter evening wedding in the medieval village of Montefioralle in Chianti, a Dutch couple at Castello del Trebbio above the Val di Sieve, and receptions at Villa Corsini di Mezzomonte, Castello dei Segalari, Villa Rossi in Lucca and Valle di Badia. He also uses a drone for aerial views of a venue.
Coverage runs for the whole event, with no limit on the number of photographs. Depending on the number of guests and the layout of the ceremony and reception, he works alone, with an assistant or with additional photographers. He has photographed weddings across different cultures and religions, and plans covered locations or an alternative shoot if the weather turns.
Edited, high-resolution photographs arrive in an online gallery about a month after the wedding. Prints are made on high-quality materials, and wedding albums and photobooks, in a choice of models and sizes, are produced in his own studio.
