Alessia Randazzini and My Sicilian Wedding
Alessia Randazzini describes herself as a wedding planner, detail lover and proud Sicilian. She founded My Sicilian Wedding in Caltagirone, the ceramics town of Sicily's Baroque interior, and works with couples from around the world, most of whom are marrying on an island they have never lived on.
The practice is shaped by a choice she states openly. She accepts only a limited number of weddings each year, so that each couple receives a tailored, hands-on process in place of a service stretched across a fuller calendar.
“Our intentionally limited number of weddings per year allows us to offer a highly tailored, immersive experience.”
My Sicilian Wedding
Her design draws on local craft. For one couple she drove to Caltagirone to have more than a hundred ceramic tiles hand-painted for the table design, and for the same wedding a Sicilian pupo doll was passed between guests and a cocktail menu was written in Sicilian dialect. A client review credits her knowledge of Sicilian motifs, art and architecture with giving the day a true Sicilian character, and notes that her earlier career as a solicitor helped her negotiate vendor contracts.
The portfolio centres on a wedding planned on the eastern slope of Etna near Viagrande, with dry-stone vineyard walls, olive terraces and a converted stone venue reached along a cypress-lined drive. Her website also states that she plans in the Amalfi Coast, the Greek islands and Morocco.
