O’Sarracino Events
O'Sarracino Events began in 2000 as a catering company on Procida, founded by Leonardo Costagliola, who was born on the island.
Leonardo Costagliola and O’Sarracino Events
Procida is the smallest island in the Bay of Naples, about four square kilometres with roughly ten thousand residents and a single ferry port. Leonardo Costagliola was born and raised there, waited tables in its restaurants as a boy and opened his first business, a bar, in 1997. He founded O'Sarracino as a catering company in 2000 and coordinated the first wedding under the name in 2005, in the historic centre of the island.
The firm has since counted more than three hundred weddings. It is unusual in being the caterer as well as the planner, so the largest line in an Italian wedding budget is bought from the same people who design the day. The kitchen cooks from the island's produce, with Procida lemons used throughout, artichokes and vegetables from the terraces, and fish landed at Marina Grande that afternoon.
Design follows a set order. Theme and colour come first, then a thread that runs through the day, then a graphic designer draws the scheme on paper. Technicians next build a three-dimensional model of the church, the setting, the table layout, the outdoor furniture and the lighting, and nothing is ordered until the drawing is agreed. Set designers, florists, photographers and light designers complete the team, most of them people Leonardo has worked with for two decades.
Leonardo is a certified Capobarman with the Associazione Italiana Barman and a professional sommelier with the Associazione Italiana Sommelier. He trained as a wedding planner and event creator under Cira Lombardo and later studied at the Accademia del Wedding. He rates the first meetings as the most important part of the job, because they are where he learns who the couple are and earns their trust.
From the first message to the day itself
- 01Getting to know the couple
The first phase is conversation, to understand the couple well enough to find the thread that will run through the day.
- 02Theme and scheme
Theme and colours are chosen, then a graphic designer draws the scheme on paper.
- 03Three-dimensional model
The church, setting, table layout, outdoor furniture and lighting are modelled in 3D before the florist, set builder and lighting service receive a brief.
- 04Catering and logistics
The menu is designed with the room by the in-house kitchen, while guest ferries, transfers and accommodation are arranged alongside.
- 05The wedding day
The team is on site to run the day, after months of planning meetings.

Before you write to them
What does O'Sarracino charge?
The fee depends on the wedding. An Italian wedding directory shows wedding planning services from €2,800 to €5,000, which is indicative, covers planning only and is not a wedding budget. Catering is bought from the same firm.
Where do they work?
On Procida, and the company also states that it works across the wider Campania region. The practice is built around one island, where the kitchen, suppliers, boats and venues are all close together.
How do guests get to Procida?
By sea only. Ferries and hydrofoils run to Marina Grande from Naples, about an hour, and from Pozzuoli, about forty minutes. The nearest airport is Naples Capodichino.
Can we be legally married on the island?
Yes. The company plans religious and civil ceremonies as well as symbolic ones, and handles the paperwork and registry alongside the rest of the day. Symbolic ceremonies need no file.
Who is Leonardo Costagliola?
The founder and lead planner. He was born and raised on Procida, opened his first business there in 1997 and founded O'Sarracino in 2000. He is a certified Capobarman and a professional sommelier.
Do they only plan weddings?
No. Baptisms, communions, birthdays, graduation parties and engagement parties are on the company's own list, and the catering side began five years before the weddings.

Is your date free with O’Sarracino Events?
Your message goes straight to Leonardo, with your date, guests and the kind of wedding you have in mind.
