Anywhera Events was founded in 2018 by Kasun Rathnayake and Ayesha Shamendi and has grown into a team of planners, designers, coordinators and a decoration and lighting crew based in Malabe, Sri Lanka. The company plans weddings for local couples and for couples travelling from overseas, including inbound and outbound destination weddings and multi-day celebrations.
Planning is built around detail-oriented coordination, from budgeting and venue sourcing to vendor selection, with design concepts matched to the architecture of each venue. Couples have continuous consultation through the process, and the team can handle Western, Sri Lankan and Hindu weddings, including poruwa ceremony decoration.
A distinguishing feature is that floral design, outdoor and marquee lighting and event rentals are produced in-house. Table settings, furniture, stages, dance floors, marquees and cooling units can be supplied alongside the planning, so one team manages the look of the day from concept to set-up.
Weddings take place across the island, from beach-front hotels and boutique villas in the south and west to hill country venues and lakeside gardens close to Colombo. The portfolio includes lawn ceremonies by water, mandap set-ups, candlelit garden dinners and colonial-style hotel settings.

Wedding day coordination begins two weeks before the date, so that everything planned so far passes smoothly to the people running the day.

Coordinators act as the single point of contact for suppliers, check deliveries, set-up and the schedule, and deal with anything unforeseen.
