Nilay Çelik and Nilyum Wedding and Event Design

Nilyum Wedding and Event Design is a wedding and event planning studio in Bodrum, on Turkey's Aegean coast. It was founded in 2009 by Nilay Çelik and Nilden Gezer, who remain its chief designers and lead the design, installation and management of each wedding.

Couples travel to Bodrum from Asia, the Middle East and Europe, and the studio is known for multicultural celebrations. It plans multi-day Indian and Pakistani weddings, including the mehndi, sangeet, haldi, baraat and gala reception, and also designs European-style weddings with a Mediterranean, minimalist feel.

Each wedding starts with a personal consultation, in person or online, with the founders. They design a concept around the couple and the venue, then manage design, logistics, coordination and production from a single point of contact. Venues range across Bodrum's luxury hotels, private villas and seaside venues, and the team can also plan at other destinations in Turkey.

The team handles the practical side as well as the design: venue search, floral design, sound, lighting and stage, entertainment and shows, photography and video, hair and make up with trials, and concierge services such as yacht hire and transfers. They work with a trusted network of partners in Bodrum and across Turkey.

The studio also plans private parties and corporate events in Bodrum, and has won an Eventex award in 2021.

    The team proposes venues that suit the vision, from hotels and private villas to seaside venues, and designs a concept that reflects the couple's personality.

    Once the concept is approved, the team plans each element, including florals, decor, entertainment, sound and lighting, photography and hair and make up, with regular contact and photographs shared along the way.

  4. 04Guest logistics

    Transfers, accommodation, welcome parties, the day-after brunch and other events around the wedding are organised and coordinated.

  5. 05The celebration

    On the day the team manages every moment, handling the installation and the vendors, so the couple can enjoy it.

Working with Nilyum event and design was a great experience. I had a destination wedding in Bodrum and organizing a destination wedding remotely was a challenge. Nilyum event design and weddings were incredibly professional and responsive throughout the process. In the festivities leading up to the wedding they were culturally sensitive to our needs and did their best to make the process as seamless as possible by dealing with the hotel, providing logistical support and most importantly solving any last minute problems with solutions.
