In 1642 Duchess Camilla Virginia Savelli commissioned Francesco Borromini to design a convent for Augustinian nuns on the slopes of the Gianicolo in Trastevere. Much of what he left remains: the cloister corridors, a gilded stone staircase, the refectory and the chapel facing the garden. The building is now a VRetreats boutique hotel.

Ceremonies and banquets are held in the Gran Sala Borromini, beneath candelabras and old walnut choir seats. The Terrazza Savelli suits cocktails over the roofs of Trastevere, and a private garden shaded by citrus trees serves ceremonies and aperitivi.

The Contempo restaurant, led by Chef Emidio Ferro, revisits Roman tradition for wedding menus built around the season and the event. The Elementa Lounge Bar and Bistrot covers breakfasts and aperitivi, often served in the garden courtyard.
