About La Posta Vecchia Hotel

A five-star villa on the Tyrrhenian coast near Rome, standing over excavated Roman ruins, with J. Paul Getty's former private museum open to guests.

La Posta Vecchia in Palo Laziale

La Posta Vecchia is a five-star hotel on the Tyrrhenian coast near Rome, a seventeenth-century villa standing on the excavated ruins of a Roman villa of the second century BC. When J. Paul Getty restored the house he unearthed mosaics and artefacts on the site and kept them in his own private museum within the property. The museum is now open to guests, with access near the lobby. In the garden, the remains of the Roman villa are visible under a protective roof, including a pool with a white mosaic floor, a water tank and a fragment with an inscription.

Inside, the décor is eighteenth-century, with antique furniture and tapestries set alongside modern comforts and a security system. The hotel is a blend of new and old, with the scale of an intimate villa rather than a large resort. A wedding can take over the salons, the bedrooms, the indoor heated pool, the beauty club and the sea-view terraces, so the villa works as a private residence for the wedding party. The LPV Health & Beauty club sits by the covered swimming pool and uses signature products from Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella. The Beach Club has a heated pool with a view of the sea and white parasols.

Magical

La Post Vecchia is a fantastic place. a real 5-star hotel, With organization and staff of a high level, impeccable restaurant, breakfast with unique and refined specialities (artisanal gianduia, mozzarella and fresh ricotta). I got married in Christmas 2017; we were guests in the villa with 140 guests for two days. I recommend it for the natural beauty a pure elegance of the place. Truly magical!!!!
