About Iscoyd Park

Iscoyd Park is a Georgian country house near Whitchurch in Shropshire, taken exclusively for a single wedding, with a glass-fronted Garden Room, an estate church and fifteen double bedrooms.

Iscoyd Park is a classical Georgian house in gardens and parkland just outside Whitchurch, close to where Shropshire, Cheshire and North Wales meet. It has been in the Godsal family since 1843, and Phil and Susie Godsal began restoring it in 2009. The result is a family home rather than a hotel, opened for one wedding at a time. The house and its gardens are the couple's from noon on the day until ten the next morning.

Ceremonies are held in the glass-fronted Garden Room, in a bay-windowed drawing room, or in the church on the edge of the estate. The Garden Room also serves as the dining room, seating up to 160, with food cooked on site by a Michelin-trained chef. After dinner the party moves to the Coach House. Fifteen double bedrooms, each styled differently and led by the Park Room as the bridal suite, allow the closest family and friends to stay the night. Whitchurch railway station is about two miles away, and Liverpool and Manchester airports are each about an hour by road.

A family house since 1843

Iscoyd Park is a classical Georgian house in gardens and parkland near Whitchurch, where Shropshire meets Cheshire and North Wales. The Godsal family has owned it since 1843. From 2009 Phil and Susie Godsal brought it back from a state of decline, and it keeps the warmth of a lived-in home rather than the manner of a hotel.

Vows in the Garden Room or the church

Couples marry in the glass-fronted Garden Room, an apse-ended space opening onto the terrace, or in a drawing room with bay windows and oil paintings. The church on the edge of the estate is available for a religious service. Drinks and photographs drift out across the gardens and parkland, and the evening continues in the Coach House.
