Knowsley Hall is a stately home at Prescot in Merseyside, the private home of the Earl and Countess of Derby, whose family, the Stanleys, have owned it since 1385. It stands within a 2,500 acre walled estate, reached by a sweeping drive, with manicured gardens inspired by Capability Brown, a fountain, topiary and lakes. The house dates in part from about 1495, with a Georgian wing and Victorian and Edwardian interiors, and Liverpool Airport is fifteen minutes away.
The whole hall and gardens are reserved for one wedding party at a time, and the hall limits the number of weddings it hosts each year. Ceremonies take place in the Stucco Ballroom, which holds up to 132 guests, and the seated wedding breakfast is served in the State Dining Room, with a drinks reception on the terrace and lawns. A panel of partner caterers supplies the food, and an event coordinator plans each wedding. The hall has 17 bedrooms for up to 32 guests, at least 15 of which are booked for a wedding, and Lord Derby's Suite is kept for the newlyweds.
