About Lillibrooke Manor

A Grade II listed manor and barn estate at Cox Green in Maidenhead, taken on exclusive use for the wedding day, with accommodation on site.

Lillibrooke Manor in Maidenhead

Lillibrooke Manor is a Grade II listed manor and barn estate at Cox Green, Maidenhead, in the Thames Valley. The Great Barn is set within the grounds of the medieval manor house, which was home to Lady Elizabeth and the Englefield family until Cromwell confiscated it during the Commonwealth. The estate is taken for the wedding day on exclusive use, so the barns, the gardens and the preparation rooms belong to the wedding party. Heritage Venues Limited is the event management and catering partner, with an appointed planning contact from the first enquiry and an event manager and full event team on the day.

The Tack Barn and the Cottage Room are two private preparation rooms for getting ready on site. The grounds are arranged with hanging baskets, manicured lawns and colourful flower beds, which suit wedding photographs. Weddings are not sold as pre-packaged plans: couples design the day with the team, using examples of options and costs. A list of handpicked recommended suppliers is kept, from photographers and florists to entertainment, and there is no obligation to use them, so couples can bring their own favourites or talented friends and family. A planning meeting is held three months before the wedding day to finalise the details.

Ceremonies

Ceremonies across barns and cloisters

The Great Barn, the Small Barn, the Cloister Courtyard, the Engine House and the Manor House Garden are the five indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces. Celebrant weddings, same-sex marriages and ceremonies that reflect a couple's own beliefs are supported, as are renewals of vows. The site is fully licensed for outdoor ceremonies, with the Cloistered Garden and adjoining Small Barn used for them. Mandap ceremonies are welcomed; the sacred fire is kept outdoors, at the Manor House drive, the front of the Great Barn or outside the Small Barn doors. An on-site ceremony charge covers set-up, linen, speakers and cleaning, separate from the Registrar payment.

Receptions

Celebrations in the Great Barn and beyond

The estate and barns are available from 8am to midnight on the wedding day, with separate spaces for the ceremony, the wedding breakfast and the drinks and dancing. The Great Barn has a grand beamed ceiling, heavy wrought iron chandeliers and tall windows. Its barn PA system, adjustable colour lighting, decorative external lighting, and projector and large screen come with the hire. The Engine House is a hexagonal space with leather chesterfield armchairs, which works for a drinks reception or as a breakout area. A PA and sound system with a wireless microphone is provided for speeches, and a laptop and Spotify can be used for music.

Our wedding

We truly had the best day at the beautiful venue. We couldn't have chosen a dreamier space that really allowed us to fulfil all our dreams. Thank you so much for the help in making our vision a reality. Your attention to detail, approachability and the way you accommodated us truly made us feel so confident on the day.

Everything was perfect.

We had our wedding at Lillibrooke Manor in November. Everything was perfect. The staff were so accommodating and friendly, they made sure that everything was as smooth as possible. The food was sensational, and we had so many compliments about the butternut squash soup and the vegetarian pie. I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding. There is ample space for both parties and onsite accommodation. One hundred people for the day fit very easily and with the additional evening guests still didn't fill it. Thanks again to everyone who made our day so special.

Our wedding

Lillibrooke was the perfect venue for our wedding. It, and the Heritage Team - delivered over our (already high!) expectations, we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Jakki was so helpful in the lead-up to the wedding; so thorough with all the planning and answered all our many questions. ... Lillibrooke is beautiful and we loved how intimate it felt too, with the barn right next to the lawn and the ‘Engine house' which is an ideal quieter space, it enabled our guests to flow between the spaces without them all being too spread apart (perfect for a sunny summer evening!). ... We've had so much feedback from our guests that the food was the best they've ever had at a wedding too- delicious and lots of it!

Our wedding

I just wanted to thank you all for the most magical day. The staff were all amazing and helpful on the day. Everything went so smoothly thanks to the team. The food was absolutely delicious - I'm convinced it was even better than the tasting! Everybody we spoke to loved the venue ... Vincent was absolutely fantastic on the day and really kept the show on the road when things ran behind.
