Oakley Court is a Victorian mansion house of 1859 on a private stretch of the River Thames known as Water Oakley, just downriver from Windsor in Berkshire. The Gothic house stands in 35 acres of gardens and lawns that run down to the water, with a kitchen garden, tennis courts and a riverside restaurant, and Central London is within the hour. Its lounges include a library, a conservatory and a green room hung with artworks, and the long list of past visitors includes President de Gaulle and Queen Elizabeth II, who arrived by boat from Windsor Castle.
Weddings are held on an exclusive use basis, so the hire covers all of the event spaces, all of the bedrooms, the mansion house lounges, the Terrace Restaurant and the grounds. The Big Room seats 140 guests, with smaller spaces for a select few. Bedrooms in the Mansion House, the Boathouse and the Garden Wing were designed by Eagle and Hodges, and most look over the river, which leaves room for a pre-wedding dinner the night before and breakfast together the next morning. Bicycles, tennis courts and an indoor pool, sauna and steam room are open to hotel guests, and dogs are welcome throughout.
