Two cities, one firm
Brilliant Event Planning was founded in 2008 and is co-owned by Sarah Glick Romashko in Boston and Chelsea LaFollette in New York City. The two lead their own offices and often team up on weddings, and the firm takes a limited number of events each year so every couple has close attention.
Tents, estates and raw spaces
The specialism is building a wedding where there is no venue to begin with: private homes, tented sites and raw spaces. A working week can involve several days of tent installation, ferries and travel logistics. Sarah leads multi-day weekends and tented celebrations across New England, while Chelsea plans weddings throughout New York City, the Hamptons, the Hudson Valley, Connecticut and New Jersey.
City and shoreline
The portfolio moves from a Brooklyn boathouse and a glass-walled museum terrace in Boston to the Hudson Valley, Lake Tahoe and a beach weekend in the Riviera Maya. Weddings abroad have taken the team to Mexico, Ireland, Italy, Antigua and the Bahamas, and the firm also plans Indian fusion weddings.
The services
Services run from full-service planning and design to month-of and day-of coordination, with timelines and floor plans, vendor referrals and contract negotiation, budget guidance, and room blocks and guest transport. The firm also plans rehearsal dinners, welcome parties and marriage proposals. Fees are quoted for each wedding.
