Five-star hotel off Piccadilly with a Baccarat-lit ballroom · Mayfair, London
5.01 reviewA five-star Mayfair hotel inaugurated by King George V, with three licensed wedding spaces, an in-house culinary team and a spa on site.
The May Fair is a five-star hotel in Mayfair, inaugurated by King George V and now part of the Radisson Collection. It is owned and operated by Edwardian Hotels London, a privately owned hospitality group. The hotel sits in the heart of W1, set amid Mayfair's arts scene, tree-lined parks and world-famous shopping. It has a long history of hosting weddings, soirées and high-profile guests, and has welcomed royalty, artists and world leaders through its doors. Every wedding is assigned a dedicated planner, who stays with the couple from the first conversation through to the final toast.
A wedding here ranges from an intimate Private Dining Room to the grand Crystal Ballroom, planned with the same calm, discreet approach to every detail, from the floor plan to the flowers. The hotel works with florists, decorators, stylists and cake artists, and planners can also work with the suppliers a couple has chosen. Dining is a major focus of the hotel. May Fair Spa & Gym sits a few floors from the ballroom, so the bridal party can have treatments before the ceremony, or a quiet facial the morning after. The stay and the setting matter here as much as the celebration itself.

The Crystal Ballroom, the Danziger Suite & Atrium and the Private Dining Room are each fully licensed for wedding ceremonies and receptions. The hotel has three licensed event spaces for weddings, and a ceremony takes up to 180 guests. The Danziger Suite & Atrium has a flexible stage available for ceremonies, a registration area, a cloakroom and bathrooms. The Private Dining Room is self-contained, with its own cloakroom and bathrooms, and is intended for smaller weddings and ceremonies.

The Crystal Ballroom is the grandest setting in the hotel, with a six-metre Baccarat crystal chandelier, a private entrance, a cloakroom, dedicated bathrooms and a dance floor. It takes up to 370 guests for a reception. The Danziger Suite & Atrium has Art Deco glamour and a private Atrium with a vaulted glass ceiling and surrounding greenery, included in the room hire. The Private Dining Room has antique walnut floors, emerald fireplaces and its own bar. The May Fair Terrace is an open-air, fully heated courtyard with a dedicated bar, reached directly from the Private Dining Room and available to include in the hire. The hotel has six private spaces in all.

The hotel has 37 suites. The couple's wedding night is in a suite with Vispring mattresses and a few touches reserved for the occasion, followed by complimentary breakfast, and special rates are available for wedding guests staying overnight. The Curzon Wing, on the north-west side of the hotel, suits larger groups seeking a private space with easy access to the rest of the hotel. The Penthouse Suite has a furnished terrace.

Every wedding menu is designed around the couple by an award-winning culinary team that works entirely in-house, with ingredients from suppliers chosen for their quality and their values. Menus run from a wedding breakfast to a late-evening supper. May Fair Kitchen brings contemporary Japanese small plates and regional Italian cooking together, from sashimi, A5 Wagyu and robata dishes to fresh pasta and stone-baked pizza, and serves a Champagne Afternoon Tea with chocolates by Charbonnel et Walker. The May Fair Bar is the hotel's home for all-day dining and cocktails.

Our stay at The May Fair blended contemporary comfort with the correct dose of Mayfair glamour. The hotel felt vibrant and polished, from the sleek lobby to the velvet-lined suites designed for guests who appreciate location and lifestyle. The room was spacious by London standards, with rich textures, modern tech, and a seriously comfortable bed. Downstairs, the bar had a buzz that pulled in locals as much as guests, always a good sign. And the location? Moments from Green Park, Bond Street, and the energy of the West End. The May Fair is unapologetically modern and well-positioned, ideal for a city weekend as stylish as it is central.
