Valentines Mansion was built in 1696 and now stands as a restored, Grade II* listed house in a public park at Ilford, in the London Borough of Redbridge. The borough owns it and the charity Vision RCL runs it. Gants Hill station on the Central line is a five-minute walk, and Ilford is on the Elizabeth line.
Two rooms are licensed for civil ceremonies. The first-floor Drawing Room holds 70, with stained glass, a grand piano and a balcony over the South Lawn, and the ground-floor Morning Room holds 40 beside a deep bay window. Ceremony hire starts at £400 including VAT, and eight hours of the whole mansion, for up to 120 guests, starts at £1,335. There is no kitchen and no accommodation, so caterers come from an approved list and guests stay in nearby hotels. A walled garden, a Victorian rose garden and the Long Water canal serve for photographs, but ceremonies are held indoors.
