Plaisterers’ Hall in the City of London
Plaisterers’ Hall stands at One London Wall in the City of London, a livery hall set in the heart of the city rather than in the countryside. It has recently undergone a major refurbishment, and its interiors are classical. The Great Hall is the most impressive of the rooms: a bright and airy space with glittering chandeliers hanging from an enamelled ceiling. Behind it the building runs as a sequence of rooms, the Great Hall giving way to the adjoining Mott Room and Livery Hall, which in turn lead onto the Humber Room. The arrangement gives the hall a sense of space and an intimate atmosphere, and makes it a fine setting for a grand wedding.
The hall is very versatile and offers many different spaces from which to create a wedding day. It is a spacious venue for ceremonies and receptions alike, and the variety of rooms allows the different parts of the day to be held in separate spaces. The Great Hall can seat a dinner with a dance floor in the room, so the wedding breakfast and the dancing can share one space, and it can also take larger numbers. The hall suits anything from a small wedding breakfast to a large celebration, with the Great Hall, Mott Room, Livery Hall and Humber Room all available to shape the day.
