Kimpton Fitzroy London is a late Victorian hotel on the eastern side of Russell Square in Bloomsbury, housed in an ornate terracotta façade marked by four British queens. Inside are a Pyrenean marble staircase and chandeliers, and the ballroom was restored as part of a major refurbishment. The ballroom keeps its original architectural details, with a full wall of windows and a mezzanine gallery overlooking the main space. A wedding here uses the ballroom, the adjoining Palm Court and further event rooms within the one building, with bedrooms for guests on site,. The ceremony, the reception and the cocktails can each take place in a light-filled space. The staircase and the façade are among the hotel's own locations for wedding photographs.
The ballroom is the heart of the wedding offer, and the hotel is a central London venue for a ceremony, a reception or a celebration. A private entrance on Bernard Street serves the ballroom and gives wedding guests an arrival point separate from the main hotel entrance. Palm Court adjoins the ballroom as a reception area, and eight further event rooms are used for pre-wedding and post-wedding gatherings, so the day can move between spaces without leaving the building. Guests can stay together on site, and a wedding events team works from within the hotel. The hotel can be taken for exclusive use.

The Grade II listed ballroom, with its ornate coffered ceiling and full wall of windows, is a setting for ceremonies, and the hotel has an indoor ceremony setting. Alternative event spaces and suites can serve for pre-ceremony customs such as the Tisch or Badeken. A dedicated on-site Wedding Coordinator oversees every detail of a wedding, and weddings of different traditions have a dedicated on-site Wedding Manager. Ceremonies here are held indoors.
The ballroom seats up to 180 guests for dinner and takes up to 350 standing. It can be set with full staging and a large dance floor. Palm Court has a Champagne bar, an outdoor terrace, an indoor winter garden and four floor-to-ceiling indoor trees, and serves for cocktails before or after the ceremony. The eight lower-ground event rooms have natural daylight and the same classic design as the rest of the hotel. They suit a pre-wedding rehearsal dinner, a post-wedding brunch or other gatherings around the wedding.
The hotel has 334 bedrooms, designed by Tara Bernerd & Partners with a nod to 1920s glamour and British irreverence. Kit Miles cushions depict the hotel's resident dragon, Lucky George, and each room has Uniquely Kimpton extras, including a mug featuring George the dragon and a yoga mat. Discounted guest room rates are offered to wedding guests, and rooms can be booked in discounted blocks through the Meetings & Events team.
The in-house events and kitchen team designs wedding menus, with seasonally inspired canapés and desserts and dishes to suit the couple's style and dietary needs. The Executive Chef leads menu planning and tastings. Menus can be fully customised, including in-house Kosher-style catering and partnerships with Asian, Kosher and Kosher-style caterers. The hotel also has a restaurant, a Champagne and afternoon tea lounge, a café and a cocktail bar.
