Seventeenth-century villa wine estate with a private church and Michelin-starred restaurant above Cortona, Tuscany
Il Falconiere is a Relais & Châteaux villa on fourteen hectares of vines and olive trees above Cortona, with a private frescoed church, a glass-roofed Limonaia and about thirty rooms and suites.
Il Falconiere is La Vigna del Falco, a seventeenth-century villa restored by Riccardo and Silvia Baracchi and set among fourteen hectares of vineyards and olive groves on the hills above Cortona. A Relais & Châteaux and Virtuoso member, it brings together the honey-coloured stone villa, a private frescoed church, a glass-roofed Limonaia, terraces over the Val di Chiana, the Thesan Spa and a vineyard pool, all in eastern Tuscany close to the Umbrian border.
Couples marry in the church or the gardens, arriving by vintage Ape or classic car, and celebrate beneath the glass roof of the Limonaia or on the terraces as the light turns gold. Chef-patron Silvia Baracchi's Michelin-starred restaurant writes the wedding menus from the estate's own produce, matched with Baracchi wines. About thirty rooms and suites, several with four-poster beds and frescoes, keep the wedding party on the hill, and the whole estate can be taken for exclusive use. Perugia is forty minutes away and Florence about an hour and twenty.

La Vigna del Falco is a seventeenth-century villa that Riccardo and Silvia Baracchi restored and now run as a Relais & Châteaux and Virtuoso property. Fourteen hectares of vineyards and olive groves surround the honey-coloured stone, with the Val di Chiana opening out below the terraces.

Couples can marry in the private frescoed church or in the gardens, arrive by vintage Ape or classic car, then celebrate beneath the glass roof of the Limonaia. Aperitivi and golden-hour dinners spill onto the panoramic terraces.

Silvia Baracchi's restaurant holds a Michelin star and cooks from the estate's own gardens, groves and vineyards. Wedding menus are built for each couple and served with Baracchi wines, in a glass dining room overlooking the hills.

Around thirty rooms and suites let the wedding party remain on the estate, several with frescoes, antique furnishings, terracotta floors and views across the vineyards or towards Cortona. The Thesan Spa and the vineyard pool make the days around the wedding easy.
