Medieval castle and villa on a 60-hectare estate near Perugia, Umbria
Castello di Solfagnano is a medieval castle and villa on a 60-hectare estate a short drive from Perugia, taken exclusively for celebrations of 15 to 360 guests.
Castello di Solfagnano rises from a 60-hectare Umbrian estate about 25 minutes from Perugia, a medieval fortress that was reshaped over the centuries into a castle and a villa. Its stone walls, watch-towers and vaulted halls are still intact, and the grounds hold terraced vineyard, a walled garden, pine avenues and open hillside.
The whole estate is taken by one party at a time, for celebrations of 15 to 360 guests. Six named outdoor spaces give a wedding its own layout: the pine avenue of the Cattedrale dell'Amore, Piazza 1563, Piazza delle Torri, the Giardino della Fontana, Piazza dell'Orologio beneath the clock-tower and the castle courtyard. Civil ceremonies are held in the licensed indoor halls and religious rites in the Church of Sant'Antonio Abate on the grounds. The kitchen is left to the couple's chosen team, whether a caterer, a personal chef or a Michelin-starred cook from the venue's recommendations. Twenty-five rooms across the castle and villa sleep the party, and an outdoor pool looks over the valley. Perugia Airport is about 30 minutes away.

Over the centuries the fortress at Solfagnano became a castle and a villa, yet its stone walls, watch-towers and vaulted halls remain in place. The 60-hectare estate lies a few minutes from Perugia and is let to one party at a time.

The Cattedrale dell'Amore is an avenue of old umbrella pines that closes overhead like a nave. Piazza 1563 and Piazza delle Torri face battlements and towers, the Giardino della Fontana is built around an antique stone fountain, and Piazza dell'Orologio sits beneath the clock-tower where guests arrive.

Religious ceremonies take place in the Church of Sant'Antonio Abate within the grounds, while civil ones are held in the licensed indoor halls. The kitchen is handed to the couple's chosen team, with Michelin-starred cooks available on request.

Twenty-five rooms across the castle and villa house the party, including the Suite Imperiale with its jacuzzi terrace. An outdoor pool looks over the valley.
