Historic villa hotel with a Michelin-starred restaurant and cypress park, Chiusi, Tuscany
5.03 reviewsHotel Villa Il Patriarca is a historic villa and four-star hotel near Chiusi in southern Tuscany, with a Michelin-starred restaurant, a cypress and pine park, an infinity pool and 24 rooms and suites.
Hotel Villa Il Patriarca is a former noble residence, now a four-star hotel, standing at Querce al Pino near Chiusi in southern Tuscany. It sits between the Val d'Orcia and the Valdichiana, with cypress-lined hills and vineyards around it. An Italian-style garden and an old park of cypress and pine surround the villa, and an infinity pool looks out over the countryside.
Weddings can use several settings. Ceremonies take place in the park, beneath the gazebo, beside the pool or in the villa's salons. The Salone delle Feste seats up to 350 guests for a reception, while I Salotti and the smaller salons suit gatherings of up to 60. Food is a strong thread here: I Salotti del Patriarca holds a Michelin star under Chef Katia Maccari, and La Taverna serves traditional dishes in the historic cellars. Twenty-four rooms and suites, each with period character, allow the wedding party to stay on site. Montepulciano and Pienza are close by, and Florence and Rome airports are about two hours away.

The villa began as a noble residence and now operates as a four-star hotel at Chiusi. It lies between the Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO-listed landscape, and the Valdichiana, among cypress-lined hills and vineyards. An Italian-style garden and a park of old cypress and pine frame the building.

Couples can marry in the park, beneath the gazebo or beside the infinity pool, with the Tuscan hills beyond. The villa's salons offer an indoor alternative for the ceremony.

The Salone delle Feste takes receptions of up to 350 guests. I Salotti and the other salons are better suited to gatherings of up to 60, and the infinity pool and gardens give further room for celebration.

I Salotti del Patriarca, led by Chef Katia Maccari, holds a Michelin star and reinterprets Tuscan tradition. La Taverna, set in the historic cellars, serves traditional dishes. Wedding menus can be shaped to suit anything from a banquet to a small tasting dinner.

We had a wonderful experience at this beautiful villa. The service was excellent, food was superb and the experiences (wine tasting, pasta making class and Florentine dinner) were fabulous. We had one of the biggest suites and loved being able to spread out. Unfortunately, our A/C wasn't working correctly, which put a little damper on things since it was quite warm, but otherwise we had a fantastic time there. It's also in a great location to be able to visit other areas in Tuscany.
