San Pietro sopra le Acque is a seventeenth-century Benedictine convent, restored as a four-star resort and set on five hectares of parkland, sacred woodland, Italian gardens and rose garden above the Tiber Valley, near Todi in southern Umbria. Stone walls, frescoed porticos, an arched cloister and cypress avenues remain largely as the monks left them.
Weddings are held one at a time, with the entire estate and all 15 rooms, sleeping about 41, reserved for the party. Couples can marry in the consecrated chapel, under the living garden arch, at the stone nymphaeum or among the roses, then celebrate in the cloister courtyard and across the grounds for up to 180 guests. Chef Michele cooks Umbrian dishes in-house, paired with wines from three local estates, and a coordinator guides the weekend from enquiry to farewell brunch. Spa Sopracque, an outdoor pool and activities such as horse riding and cookery classes fill the days. Perugia Airport is forty minutes away.
