About Castello di Montignano Relais & Spa

Castello di Montignano is a refurbished tenth-century castle and spa hotel on a hill near Massa Martana in Umbria, available for exclusive-use weddings.

Castello di Montignano stands on a hill in the Umbrian countryside, in a medieval hamlet of twelve inhabitants. The castle dates to the tenth century and has been refurbished, keeping its ground-floor halls with old stone arches, vaulted ceilings and a medieval fireplace, and adding modern Italian design. It is one of the few private properties in Umbria where the mayor can conduct a civil ceremony.

Civil ceremonies can be held in the village within its medieval walls, in the stone halls or in the olive tree park facing the Colli Martani. Catholic ceremonies usually take place in the village church of San Giovanni Evangelista, which has 90 seats. Receptions are set in the Pavillon in the pool park, in the indoor halls or in the Horthus, an Italian garden with roses, hydrangeas and lavender. With exclusive use, the whole castle is reserved for the couple and their guests, and the restaurant and spa close to outside clients.
