GVE Weddings & Villas hosts weddings at Country Relais Le Capanne, a century-old farmhouse set in 100 acres of the Riserva Naturale di Monte Nero, outside Volterra. The Giovannini family restored it in 2014, and the stone walls, terracotta floors and timber beams remain. Olive groves, cypress trees and open fields surround the buildings, with long views over the Tuscan hills.
The estate is taken for exclusive use, one wedding at a time, for up to 150 guests. Ceremonies are held on terraces facing the hills, cocktails gather in the central courtyard, and dinner is served outdoors or in sheltered spaces. Nine en suite rooms sleep up to 22 guests, and celebrations can run until 2am. The Dolceria del Corso team has cooked here since 1987, using produce and olive oil from the estate. Pisa Airport is about an hour away by road. Wine tours, truffle hunting and cooking classes can be arranged on request, and Siena is about an hour away.

A farmhouse in a hundred acres
Country Relais Le Capanne is a century-old farmhouse within 100 acres of the Riserva Naturale di Monte Nero, looking over the hills outside Volterra. The Giovannini family restored it in 2014, keeping the stone walls, terracotta floors and timber beams. More than 400 olive trees produce the estate's own oil, and grain, lavender, figs and herbs grow across the grounds.
Ceremony, courtyard and dinner under the sky
Ceremonies take place on dedicated terraces facing the Tuscan hills, with olive and cypress trees around. Cocktails move into the central courtyard, and dinner is served outdoors or in sheltered spaces, depending on the season. The party can carry on until 2am.
One family, one team
The Giovannini family has been creating weddings in Tuscany for more than 35 years and manages the venue, planning, catering, bar and cake through one team. The Dolceria del Corso kitchen, working since 1987, cooks from three generations of family recipes. Wine tours, truffle hunting and cooking classes can be arranged on request.

I was lucky enough to stay here as part of a Lovegrove photography workshop. This venue is so beautiful, peaceful and I really didn't want to leave. The rooms were stunning, the food gorgeous and the staff amazing. Looking forward to going back again some day.
