Villa Amistà has a fifteenth-century façade attributed to the architect Michele Sanmicheli (1489 to 1559). After a period of abandonment it was carefully restored through the passion for art of Dino Facchini and his family, owners of the Byblos fashion label. The central part of the villa, its two towers, the small church of Saint Rocco and the farm buildings were all restored.

The renovation was designed in full by Alessandro Mendini and his Atelier. Inside, a large hall is dominated by a Venetian chandelier, and other rooms carry elaborate ceiling decoration and murals. The suites are furnished like Wunderkammern, with carefully designed pieces.

Gianfranco Paghera designed the gardens, an area of twenty thousand square metres with fountains and a swimming pool. The Espace Byblos spa sits within the hotel, and the Atelier restaurant and Peter's Bar, dedicated to the American artist Peter Halley, provide dining and drinks.
