Meryll de GordonFounder, videographer and editorGordon Wedding Films is the studio of Meryll de Gordon, who founded it in 2014 and is based in Provence. He came to film through music, songwriting, writing, photography and illustration, and that background still shapes how he edits: rhythm, pauses, voices and ambient sound are treated as part of one composition. He has filmed more than 180 weddings for couples from France, the US, the UK, Europe and Asia, works in French and English, and edits every film himself.
Couples choose between two approaches. Narrative films are built on real audio, with vows, speeches and conversations carrying the story, and can draw in pre-wedding sessions, voice recordings or archive footage; they suit multi-day and destination weddings. Classic films are more visual and restrained, led by atmosphere, composition and the design of the day. In both, he spends time choosing the music and shaping the pace until the film feels right.
“I don’t just film wedding days, I create cinematic wedding films that capture who you are as a couple.”
Meryll de Gordon, founder
On the day he aims to be present without being seen. Couples are not asked to pose, and a typical wedding means ten to twelve hours of continuous filming, with several audio sources at the ceremony and speeches, backup equipment on site and duplicate storage. Smaller weddings he often films alone. For larger or multi-location weddings a second filmmaker joins: Joris or Jonathan in France, Jonathan also being a professional drone pilot, and in Thailand Matteo, whom Meryll trained, with drone operator Ploydao.
Most of his couples plan from abroad. He works regularly in Provence and on the French Riviera, at venues including the Four Seasons Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, Château de Tourreau, Domaine de Manville and Château de Varennes, and has filmed weddings in Sicily, Santorini, Marrakech, Méribel, Mallorca, Costa Rica, New York, Phuket, Krabi and Chiang Mai. His most recent published film follows Ally and Parker, a couple from Texas, who eloped with two friends in Noto, Sicily, in August 2026.
He also teaches storytelling to other filmmakers and has spoken at Narrative Wedding Workshops, Filmmaker Global in Rome and the FFPMI conference.
Before booking, Meryll offers to meet you in person or by video call, to talk about what matters to you and check that you are a good match. If it feels right, he sends the booking details.
Most couples have one to three calls before the wedding. He helps refine the timeline, times key moments for the light and plans transitions between locations, and he coordinates directly with your planner and often your photographer.
For elopements and multi-day weddings he can suggest moments that add to the film, such as a welcome dinner, a boat trip or a relaxed morning together, without staging anything for the camera.
A full day is usually ten to twelve hours of filming, discreet and unposed, with multiple audio sources for vows and speeches and a second filmmaker when the scale calls for it.
Meryll edits every film himself. Selecting the footage, building the structure, choosing the music, mixing the sound and grading the colour usually takes 30 to 60 hours, more for multi-day weddings.
You receive a short film of around three to five minutes (four to six for a narrative film) and a longer film of up to about fifteen minutes, plus any options you chose, such as a full ceremony or speeches edit.

Yes, through Jonathan in France and Ploydao in Thailand, both drone pilots. Aerial filming depends on the venue, airspace, permissions and weather, so it cannot be guaranteed in advance.
No. He offers both wedding photography and filmmaking, but at each wedding he works as either the photographer or the filmmaker, so he can give one medium his full attention.
He is based in Provence, with a team in Thailand, and travels for destination weddings and elopements anywhere. He works in French and English and often plans remotely with couples and planners across time zones.
He takes a limited number of weddings each year and is now booking 2027 and 2028, so it is worth enquiring early.
