Weddings in Menorca

Menorca offers a quieter expression of the Balearic Islands, with sheltered coves, turquoise waters and a landscape of traditional stone farmhouses and rolling countryside. Weddings take place in restored rural fincas, elegant country estates, boutique hotels and selected coastal venues, where gardens, historic architecture and Mediterranean views provide intimate settings for celebrations.

Ciutadella, on the island's western coast, is celebrated for its historic streets, elegant palaces and picturesque harbour, while Mahón has one of the Mediterranean's most impressive natural harbours. Beyond the towns, the island's countryside reveals dry stone walls, olive groves and traditional agricultural estates. Protected as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Menorca combines natural beauty, architectural heritage and an unhurried island atmosphere that makes it particularly distinctive among Mediterranean wedding destinations.

Questions couples ask

Marrying in Menorca

Short answers from what the venues have told us.

Why choose Menorca over Mallorca?

Menorca is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve with no mass tourism infrastructure of the scale of southern Mallorca. Its stone fincas, talayotic monuments and protected coves give it a specific character. The trade-off is a smaller venue pool and supplier network.

What are talayotic monuments, and do they feature in weddings?

The talayots, navetes and taulas are prehistoric stone monuments found only on Menorca in the Balearics. Several fincas sit within sight of them, and the taula at Talatí de Dalt is a frequent photography backdrop.

What is the Tramuntana wind, and how does it affect outdoor weddings in Menorca?

A north-northwest wind, stronger on Menorca than on any other Balearic island and most persistent in spring and autumn. South-facing gardens, enclosed courtyards and the south coast coves are sheltered.
