Francesca Piras and Franci’s Flowers Wedding Design
Francesca Piras trained as an architect, and the sense of scale, proportion and colour from that training runs through her wedding flowers. She has worked from a studio in Florence, near Piazza Alessandro Bonsanti, since 2007.
Her designs follow each couple's own brief rather than a house style. Examples include a blush and peach sweetheart table at a private Tuscan estate, ceremony aisles in lavender and lilac, a jewel-toned reception in the gilded rooms of Villa Cora, a minimal arch of bright pink baby's breath, and a rose and orchid huppah for a Jewish wedding on Sardinia's Costa Smeralda.
“Flowers have their own language, and we see ourselves as helping to tell the story of the day through them.”
Francesca Piras, Founder and Floral Designer
The settings are equally varied, from the roofless thirteenth-century nave of San Galgano Abbey and the stone facade of Villa Mangiacane to the frescoed Gherardesca Ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel Florence. Other venues in the portfolio include Castello di Segalari, Borgo Santo Pietro, Castello di Vincigliata in Fiesole, Hotel Calimala and I Coselli Collection in Lucca.
The studio designs for Catholic ceremonies in Florentine villas, for Jewish weddings beneath a floral huppah and for same-sex weddings, one of them photographed beside the pool at Riva Lofts. It also works with couples who plan from abroad and offers a wedding concierge service.
Francesca and her studio team deliver, install and clear the flowers on the day. The studio also designs for private parties and events and teaches flower design courses in Florence, and it holds a 5.0 average across 76 Google reviews.
