Barbara Zanon Photography

Barbara Zanon was born in Venice in 1979 and has worked as a professional photographer since 2004. Her editorial and news photographs have appeared in The New York Times, LIFE, The Guardian, Le Monde, Der Spiegel, El País, Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Forbes; she contributes to Getty Images and is a member of Italy's Ordine dei Giornalisti and of Women Photograph. Alongside that career she has photographed weddings for more than 20 years, for couples and families in Italy and abroad.

She describes her wedding photography as natural, joyful and elegant. She does not like to force poses: although she is also a portrait photographer, she prefers to photograph people as spontaneously as possible, paying attention to small gestures and telling the day through real moments rather than arranged scenes. Her wedding work has appeared in The New York Times, Vogue, Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, Junebug Weddings and White, and has been recognised by WPJA, Junebug Weddings, ISPWP, AGWPJA and WJS.

She is based between Venice and Trieste and travels throughout Italy and further afield. Her published weddings include a candlelit ceremony at the Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista with a reception at the Aman in Venice, a garden wedding at Villa Semenza near Lecco, and an elopement that began with a civil ceremony at Palazzo Cavalli on the Grand Canal and went on by gondola through the city. Over the years she has photographed weddings of 800 guests lasting twelve hours as well as elopements for two.

Coverage is built around the couple rather than a fixed package: from two hours for the ceremony and portraits, to five hours from the preparations to the arrival at the reception, to ten hours from getting ready to the cake and first dance, with extra hours added as the day needs. Couples can take the edited photographs in high resolution, or add a fine art album or fine art prints, made in Italy and customisable in materials and style.

Since 2025 she has also offered a wedding content creator service: shot on a phone alongside the official photographer and videographer, it produces reels, stories and short videos for Instagram and TikTok, with unedited material delivered within 24 to 48 hours. She also holds a drone licence valid to 2030 and teaches photography workshops.
