Wedding weekend pictures
Matteo took pictures both for our engagement and wedding weekend. His pictures were great and he was a pleasure to work with. Couldn’t be happier!

Matteo Cuzzola is an Italian wedding photographer based on Lake Como who photographs weddings across the Italian lakes, Venice, Tuscany, Rome, Florence and Sorrento, and travels to London, Paris and Madrid.
Matteo CuzzolaOwner and lead photographerMatteo Cuzzola is an Italian wedding photographer based on Lake Como. His Lake Como page says he has more than fifteen years of experience, and his venue pages run through the lake's best-known addresses: Villa del Balbianello, Villa d'Este, Villa Erba, Villa Cipressi, Villa Regina Teodolinda, Grand Hotel Tremezzo and the Mandarin Oriental.
He describes his style as documentary observation and refined composition, focusing on emotion, atmosphere and authenticity, and elsewhere as a blend of photojournalism and fine art. In practice that means working discreetly and letting the day unfold, with gentle direction during the portraits for couples who are not used to a camera. His galleries move between warm colour and black and white, from the loggia at Balbianello to quiet getting-ready scenes. He also shoots analogue film, which he says suits the light of the lake, with every roll developed and scanned.
“I follow the light, the glances, the hands held a little tighter. No forced poses. No artificial scenes. Just your story, beautifully told.”

Coverage, as he lists it, runs from preparations and the ceremony through natural portraits, guests and family, details and the evening reception. He offers full-day and multi-day coverage, including rehearsal dinners, welcome parties and boat rides, plus pre-wedding and post-wedding sessions. A second shooter or assistant comes along for larger weddings or on request, and his own blog notes that he photographs only one wedding a day.
The lake is home ground, but his published weddings also include Lake Maggiore and Lake Garda, Milan, Tuscany, the Cinque Terre, Portofino, Friuli and Abruzzo, and he says he travels for weddings in London, Paris and Madrid. Through his Lake Como page he also offers local knowledge: he says he knows the light and angles at each of the major villas, and helps couples choose photo spots and plan around the weather.
Couples usually receive between 500 and 800 edited photographs within six to eight weeks, depending on the season, in a private online gallery, with a custom album if they would like one. Every photograph delivered is fully edited. He was named a WeddingWire Couples' Choice winner for 2024.
