Magnolia Wedding Planner is run from Florence by Silvia Bargagni, who was born in the city and founded the business in 2005. Before weddings she studied maths, accountancy and programming and worked as Accountant Manager for Filofax Italy, a background she links directly to how she builds budgets and investment plans for couples.
Her own wedding in Fiji in February 2005, which she planned herself including the legal paperwork, was the start of her career. She trained with the Event Academy in Santa Barbara, California, and spent the following seasons working alongside caterers, photographers, planners and DJs to learn what each of them needs. She now has more than twenty years of destination weddings in Italy behind her.

She plans weddings in Tuscany, from Florence and the hills of Fiesole to the Chianti countryside, and works with couples from the United States, the United Kingdom and beyond, including Nepali, Indian, Persian and Chinese celebrations. Many projects run over three days, with a welcome party, the wedding and a farewell, and she describes four directions for the look of a day: Timeless, Classy, Vibrant and Creation.
Silvia is the point of contact and creative lead throughout. She works with a trusted circle of coordinators, assistants and a back office, who are fully present on the wedding day. Each couple gets a custom Google Drive folder holding the investment plan and tracker, timelines, contracts and inspiration boards, available at any hour.

A Google Drive folder per couple holds the timelines, contracts, mood boards and investment tracking, updated and accessible 24 hours a day.
- 05Visits in Tuscany
Couples are encouraged to visit if they can, for venue walk-throughs and meetings with key suppliers, though everything can also be planned remotely.
- 06The wedding days
Silvia and her team coordinate the day, and any welcome or farewell events, so you can concentrate on the celebration.

Where does she plan weddings?
In Tuscany, including Florence, Fiesole and Chianti. Sardinia is where she hosts her retreats, not where she plans weddings.
Can we plan an Italian wedding remotely?
Yes. The full planning service is designed for couples who have never been to Italy, with video calls, email and a shared Google Drive folder per couple. She encourages at least one visit to the venue and key suppliers if possible.
