Gemma Aurelius and My Lake Como Wedding

My Lake Como Wedding plans and designs weddings on Lake Como and does not work elsewhere. Its venue list runs from Villa del Balbianello and Villa Balbiano near Lenno to Villa d'Este, Villa Erba, Villa Pizzo and Villa Teodolinda around Cernobbio, Villa Cipressi in Varenna, Villa Pliniana at Torno and Villa Lario Resort at Mandello, with Castello Durini in the hills about 30 minutes from Como for couples who want a country estate.

Gemma Aurelius founded the company and leads it as Owner and Wedding Director. She is from the United Kingdom and has lived beside the lake and run the business there since 2013. Three planners work with her: Grace, Planning and Production Coordinator; Maria, Intimate Events and Logistics Specialist; and Jessica, Design and Production Coordinator. The team works in English, and the company says it has helped more than 80 couples marry on the lake.

Most of its couples come from abroad and plan for a weekend rather than a single day. The published portfolio shows the pattern: a welcome event or rehearsal dinner at one address, the wedding at another, and often a farewell gathering the next day at a lido or beach club. One couple added a cooking class; another had a Riva photo shoot between a welcome dinner and the wedding at Villa Pizzo.

The work is planning, design and production in one. Couples receive a detailed budget forecast before planning starts and then use an online portal for the budget, checklists and timelines. Design is presented through mood boards, drawings and renderings, and suppliers come from a group the team has worked with before. Gemma says she takes a strictly limited number of couples each year.

Beyond weddings, the company arranges elopements, surprise proposals and photoshoots on the lake. Its work has been featured in Style Me Pretty, 100 Layer Cake, WedLuxe, Wedding Sparrow and For The Love Of Love, and Wedvibes listed it among the top ten wedding planners on Lake Como.

The Best Day of our Lives

Professional, polite and patient. Gemma & her team were with us from start to finish and still assist us with things after the wedding. When we emailed various wedding planners in the Como area, she was the only planner to respond personally to us rather than just forwarding us a spreadsheet list of venues. She listened to our requests and responded with thoughtful ideas and suggestions. She was patient when we changed our minds on ideas & budget and was very diverse in making the wedding day exactly how we wanted it. The proof was in the pudding, we had the best day of our lives, and it wouldn’t have been possible without Gemma’s help.

Simply Awesome

Gemma & her team were awesome. Our Daughter's wedding went incredibly smoothly & without a single glitch. The attention to detail by Gemma and her colleagues was simply superb. Their local knowledge was excellent. Their contacts were fantastic and we couldn't fault it. Gemma organised the Wedding venue at Villa Carlotta, with all the legalities, even a Harpist & a violinist. She organised the Reception which was stunning, with amazing live entertainment, including an Opera singer. The food was incredible, the service couldn't have been better and the party afterwards was incredible and all thanks to Gemma & her Team for being so "On the Ball"
