Park Lane hotel facing Hyde Park · Mayfair, London
A Park Lane hotel in Mayfair, opposite Hyde Park, with weddings in a ballroom, a rooftop pavilion and private suites, and Michelin-starred dining on site.
The Dorchester is a historic five-star hotel on Park Lane in Mayfair, directly opposite Hyde Park, and a landmark with a long history of society weddings and a reputation for polished, cinematic celebrations. A wedding here is a city wedding in the middle of London rather than a country-estate one. The mood is old-world London with contemporary, personal service. A team of wedding planners, banqueting designers and florists works with the Executive Chef and Sommelier on each celebration, and the hotel has its own florist, car service and wedding hair salon, so much of the styling and logistics stays in house.
The hotel hosts weddings year-round, with tulips in the park and champagne on the terrace in spring, and sparkling soirées in winter. Hyde Park is an extension of the hotel for the wedding party, with outdoor running routes, yoga and guided movement on the doorstep, and the hotel's spa, with its sauna and steam rooms, and its private fitness studio are there before and after the day. The wedding planner also arranges wedding night reservations and honeymoon stopovers at Dorchester Collection hotels in Paris, Milan and Los Angeles, and the hotel's contacts include dressmakers, photographers, invitation designers, live bands and DJs.

Couples can exchange vows and celebrate under one roof, whether in the ballroom or within the intimacy of a private suite overlooking the city skyline. Ceremonies take up to 500 guests, from whispered elopements to large celebrations. The Orchid Room is a favourite for ceremony-to-dinner transitions, and a suggested day runs from the ceremony in the Orchid Room to cocktails on the terrace, a reception in the Ballroom and dancing until late.

There are eight banqueting rooms, from a drinks party in a contemporary space with daylight to a dinner and dance in The Ballroom. The Ballroom has a private entrance, cascading chandeliers and mirrored columns, takes up to 1,000 guests standing for a champagne reception, and suits multicultural weddings, couture soirées and full-scale productions. The Penthouse & Pavilion on the top floor have rooftop terraces, Art Deco interiors and Hyde Park views. The Gold & Silver Rooms are mid-size spaces for rehearsal dinners, micro-weddings and pre-wedding gatherings. Exclusive hire of the event spaces includes private entrances, cloakrooms and dedicated lifts.

The hotel has 238 rooms and suites, with antique mirrors, cloud-like beds and a silk-lined quiet. Mansion Suites have Hyde Park views, and The Dorchester Suite has gilded details and decadent lounges. The guest rooms suit bridal beauty sleep, post-party silences or a suite soirée with the inner circle, and are designed for lingering mornings and moonlit returns.

Catering is in house, and every menu is created for the wedding. Vegetarian, vegan and caviar-led menus are all possible. Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester holds three Michelin stars, The Grill serves British produce with modern twists, and China Tang serves lacquered duck. Afternoon tea is served in The Promenade, a rite of passage at the hotel.
