Victorian country house on a private island in a 60-acre mere, Oakmere, Cheshire
Nunsmere Hall Hotel is a red-brick Victorian house on a wooded island in a 60-acre mere beside Delamere Forest, with 36 bedrooms and one wedding hosted each day.
Nunsmere Hall is a red-brick Victorian house standing on a private island in a 60-acre mere, on the edge of Delamere Forest near Northwich in Cheshire. A single causeway leads to the house, and the water is in view from almost every room. The hotel hosts one wedding a day, so the house, the gardens and the island belong to one party on the chosen date.
Ceremonies can be held in the Crystal Suite, with its plasterwork ceilings and chandeliers, in the Italian Sunken Gardens for up to 350 guests, or in the Lakeside Marquee, which holds up to 400. The Brocklebank Suite offers a smaller dining room, and The Restaurant, twice named County Restaurant of the Year by The Good Food Guide, prepares the wedding menus. There are 36 individually designed bedrooms and suites for guests to stay over. Manchester Airport is 25 minutes away by road, Chester 20 minutes and Liverpool 45 minutes.

Nunsmere Hall is a red-brick Victorian house with a pitched dormer roofline and ivy on its walls. It stands on a private island ringed by a 60-acre mere at the edge of Delamere Forest, and a single causeway is the only way in. From inside, the water fills the windows and the lanes beyond feel a long way off.

The Crystal Suite, with its plasterwork ceilings and chandeliers, is the indoor choice. Outdoors, the Italian Sunken Gardens, laid out with topiary, a fountain and seasonal planting, take ceremonies of up to 350. The Lakeside Marquee, under a starlit ceiling beside the water, serves for larger celebrations of up to 400.

The Restaurant, twice voted County Restaurant of the Year by The Good Food Guide, cooks the wedding menus, and the Brocklebank Suite gives smaller parties a dining room of their own. With 36 bedrooms and suites on the island, guests can stay the night, and the couple receive a bridal suite for the wedding night.
