Glass greenhouse wedding estate among classical sculptures, Pietrasanta, Tuscany
4.73 reviewsParadis Pietrasanta is a nine-hectare organic estate beside Pietrasanta whose 700-plus square metre glass gypsotheca hosts weddings for up to 400 guests.
Paradis Pietrasanta occupies nine organic hectares on the edge of Pietrasanta, the Tuscan town that sculptors and bronze founders have worked in for centuries. The estate is built around a glass greenhouse of more than 700 square metres, a gypsotheca whose interior is lined with classical plaster sculptures. Outside lie olive groves, a natural biolake with weeping willows, a pool, a pergola walk and lawns that look towards the Apuan Alps.
Weddings of up to 400 guests are held on an exclusive-use basis, with a minimum stay of two nights. Ceremonies can take place in the greenhouse or beside the biolake, and tables for dinner are laid among the sculptures. The venue is a blank canvas, so couples bring their own caterers, wine and designers. Ten rooms on the estate, together with the Casa delle Erbe villa, and twelve more at the sister hotel in town house the wedding party. Pisa Airport is about 40 minutes by car.

The estate's glass gypsotheca covers more than 700 square metres and holds a collection of classical plaster sculptures. White figures rise out of the planting, and the light through the panes changes their look across the day. Tables for the wedding dinner are set among them under the glass roof.

Outside, the nine organic hectares include olive groves, a natural biolake with weeping willows, a pool and a pergola walk hung with glass lanterns. Ceremonies can be held on the lawns beside the water with the Apuan Alps behind, and the walk serves for drinks before dinner.

Pietrasanta has been home to sculptors and bronze founders since the Renaissance, and its studios and galleries are still working. The marble hills that supplied them can be seen from the estate, which lies two kilometres from the old centre.

The estate does not tie couples to a set caterer or designer. They bring their own, and the venue is let for exclusive use, so the whole celebration takes the shape the couple choose.
