Grotta Giusti Thermal Spa Resort occupies a neoclassical villa of the nineteenth century, built by the Tuscan poet and patriot Giuseppe Giusti. It stands in the Valdinievole hills near Monsummano Terme, between Pistoia and Montecatini Terme, in a park of old trees. Below the house runs a natural thermal cave of more than 200 metres, its three chambers named after Dante's Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso. The resort has 64 rooms and suites, an outdoor thermal pool, Il Poeta Restaurant and the Affresco Lounge Bar.
Weddings of up to 120 guests are held in the gardens and park or in the villa's ceremony spaces, with the grand banquet hall used for the reception. The park terrace and pool area give room for the evening. Menus are written around seasonal Tuscan produce from the surrounding hills. The resort is not available for exclusive use, so the grotto, pool and rooms stay open to other guests. Florence is about 45 minutes away by road and Pisa about 50.
