About Stoke Place

Stoke Place is a Queen Anne manor house of 1690, now a country house hotel in 26 acres of parkland designed by Capability Brown, a little over 30 minutes from central London.

Stoke Place is a Queen Anne manor house built in 1690, now run as a country house hotel in the heart of 26 acres of parkland designed by Capability Brown. It stands in Stoke Poges, a little over 30 minutes from central London. Original features have been kept and combined with chosen modern designer pieces, so the interiors feel both traditional and fresh. Couples are offered a blank canvas for the day.

The Ballroom is a large, classical white room with two sets of French doors, one opening to an enclosed terrace and one to gardens with panoramic views of the lake. It hosts a wedding breakfast for up to 200 guests. The Howard Vyse, with its own terrace and a raised outlook towards the lake, suits an intimate ceremony for around 60. The house is licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships up to 200, and a marquee can be built on the lawns. The Lakeside orangery is the private bar. Exclusive use runs from midday on the wedding day to 11am the next morning, with a dedicated wedding manager and a kitchen with three AA rosettes.

A wonderful wedding at Stoke Place

We really can’t commend the team at Stoke Place enough and everything came together perfectly. The venue was always our number one choice as we know it well from Sunday lunches in the restaurant. As soon as we started speaking to Tracey we knew that we had made the right choice. She helped us every step of the way, was always available to give advise and views

A wonderful wedding at Stoke Place

We just want to say a huge thank you to Tracey and the team at Stoke Place. Our wedding day really was the best day of our lives and that was down to the hard work of everyone working at the hotel to make it the perfect day. One of the main reasons we picked the venue was because of how fondly Tracey spoke of it when we first looked round, she made it such an easy choice to go with and we’re so glad we did. From day one of planning we felt really looked after, our vision for the big day was listened to and nothing seemed too big an ask. We really felt cared for and this sentiment was shared by our friends and family who came. The venue is stunning and the perfect location for a summer wedding. The lake and grounds suited us perfectly and our guests loved it. Over the weekend we felt we got to use every part of the hotel and grounds, which made everything feel so personal and special. Our guests loved our dinner choices, and the menu felt so varied that we could have gone with a number of other dishes that would have been perfect too. The wine menu was particularly good! Being able to have catch up meetings with Tracey at the venue leading up to the venue also made us feel very looked after and she was so good at talking through the day and making sure it went off without a hitch. The hospitality staff were also great, making sure everyone got their meals, that our vision came together and making sure everyone’s glasses topped up frequently! We really felt we got value for our money and looking back over the photos it all looks as magical as it felt on the day. We would 100% recommend Stoke Place for anyone considering it as a wedding venue. You won’t regret it. Thank you so much for the best day of our lives,
