Vic Rivero Films is run by Vic Rivero, who began working with photography and video part-time about fifteen years ago and set up his own company in Manila in 2012. After more than a decade in the wedding industry there, he moved to the UK and launched Vic Rivero Films. He now works mainly in video, and he focuses on high-end weddings.
His films are cinematic in style, with aerial views of the venue, composed portraits and edits built around the vows, speeches and dance floor. He works with a small team, films in natural and artificial light, indoors and out, and plans each film around what the couple tells him about their day. Couples can ask for particular shots or scenes, and he builds them into the plan.
“My ultimate goal is to evoke genuine emotions in my audience, making them laugh, cry, and relive those special moments that made their wedding day so unique.”
Vic Rivero, founder
The same-day edit is the part of his work he is best known for. His team films the preparations, ceremony and first part of the day, then cuts a highlight film of three to five minutes that is shown to the couple and their guests at the reception, usually around the first dance. The full wedding film follows after the day, and couples who have written about their films mention receiving both a trailer and a full-length film.
His published weddings run from London hotels and houses, including The Ned and Drapers' Hall, Corinthia London, The Waldorf Hilton and Dartmouth House, to country houses such as Hedsor House and Cliveden House in Buckinghamshire, Gosfield Hall in Essex, Wotton House in Surrey and Euridge Manor in the Cotswolds. Abroad he has filmed several weddings at Château Challain-la-Potherie in France, on Lake Como and in Mykonos. His portfolio also includes a Sikh wedding at the Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Southall, an Indian ceremony at Thicket Priory and a Chinese wedding at Ashridge House.
