Rebecca Mays

Rebecca Mays began designing flowers for weddings and parties in 2000. She came to floristry from the theatre rather than from horticulture, and she credits that start for the fun, dramatic feel of her arrangements.

She chooses flowers and foliage month by month, favouring what is in season and a little different from the usual offer. Her own account of the year runs from berried ivy and anemone in winter to peony and Muscari in spring, hydrangea and chocolate cosmos in summer and dahlia and gladioli in autumn.

“I love to create flowers with a difference.”

Rebecca Mays, Founder and Florist

Peacock feather is the recurring signature, worked into bouquets of peony, gladioli and Muscari. The portfolio also holds classic pieces, among them bridal bouquets in chocolate cosmos, a grand pedestal arrangement in an ornate church and a jam-jar arrangement of peony and cornflower for a smaller, unfussy day.

Rebecca works on her own rather than as a studio and takes on a limited number of weddings each year, alongside private parties, events and one-to-one wreath-making classes. She is based in London and designs for couples across the UK.

How they work

From the first message to the day itself

  1. 01Consultation

A conversation about the day, the style and the season of the wedding, so that the flowers are chosen rather than taken from a fixed list.

  2. 02Design and sourcing

Rebecca designs the flowers and sources them month by month, using seasonal and foraged stems where possible.

  3. 03The wedding day

She installs the flowers herself, from a single bridal bouquet to the full run of ceremony and reception florals.

Rebecca is, simply put, brilliant. I’ve been recommending and hiring her for my clients’ weddings for the past six years now and when we got married ourselves she was the first florist on my list to call. She works sensitively and with great imagination with each client, treating them individually depending on their taste, style and budget and delivers each brief beautifully. I highly recommend you give Rebecca a call.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for the beautiful work you did with the flowers for our wedding. My bouquet looked (and smelled) amazing, and the room really had the wow-factor.
