Paolo Cicognani plans and designs weddings across Italy from Forlì, in Emilia-Romagna. His working life moves between Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna, and his practice covers Tuscany, Lake Como, Venice, Puglia and his own region. His standing offer is that wherever a couple chooses to marry in Italy, he will go there.
He came to weddings from interior design, where he worked as an Export Manager. He then took the first two wedding planning courses ever held in Italy and spent two years attending more than a hundred weddings, working at venues unpaid to learn how the day runs behind the scenes. He has now planned for over a decade and takes only a few weddings a year.
“Wherever you are getting married, in Italy, we will follow.”
Paolo Cicognani
The service is full planning and design, with no partial planning and no day-of coordination. It runs from the first concept and the search for a venue, through the legal paperwork that foreign couples must complete, to flowers, decor and table setting, which he treats as the heart of the work. He also selects the banqueting, cake, photographer and videographer, arranges guest logistics and accommodation, and oversees the wedding day itself.
He arranges Catholic, civil, symbolic, Jewish, Protestant and Indian ceremonies. Recent weddings include a celebration at Tenuta di Monaciano outside Siena in 2022 and another at Poggio al Casone in the province of Pisa. Three assistants, Giada, Alessandra and Carlotta, work alongside him.
Enquiries go through the contact form on his website. Couples whose budget is tight, who are not looking for a design-led wedding, who prefer not to delegate, or who choose their own suppliers are not the right fit, and he says so at the outset.
