Gorgeous Films is run by Gary and Jo, who spent their earlier careers producing and directing television programmes for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky. They started filming weddings in 2005 and say they have now filmed well over 700, in the UK and abroad. The business is based in Dorset, and their site describes them as wedding videographers based in the UK and France.
Their approach is documentary first. They describe it as natural and relaxed, with minimum kit and zero intrusion, and the filming as responsive, artistic and sensitive. Couples' notes on their site come back to the same point again and again: guests barely noticed the camera, and much of the footage came as a surprise when the film arrived. Gary is the name couples mention behind the camera; Jo is the one they thank for the emails, patience and quick replies before the day.
“We believe each film should reflect the couple’s individuality and not be edited to a generic template or soundtrack with our personalities and tastes imprinted on it.”

They edit with the same broadcast habits. Each film is cut around the couple rather than a house template, and the music is chosen to suit them rather than a stock soundtrack. Speeches feature strongly, and couples talk about laughing, crying and watching the result on repeat.
Their recent weddings range from private homes in the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire, Dorset, Surrey and Worcestershire to Babington House, North Cadbury Court, Hedsor House, Wadhurst Castle and Middleton Lodge, with a wedding on Loch Lomond in Scotland. Abroad they film regularly in France, from Provence to Bordeaux and the Dordogne, and in Spain, including Mallorca, Ibiza and Barcelona, and have filmed a wedding across Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Couples receive a full wedding film, and on many weddings a shorter highlights film as well; some also have a separate film of a second day. Alongside the films they offer movie stills, frames taken from the footage, which couples have used to sit alongside their photographer's pictures.
