Wedding venues in Oxfordshire
The honey-coloured stone of Oxfordshire's historic villages, together with its grand country houses and landscaped estates, creates an unmistakably English setting for weddings. Restored manor houses, elegant rural hotels and traditional barns sit among rolling countryside, with architecture and gardens that reflect generations of country living.
Oxford itself is celebrated for its ancient university, magnificent college buildings and narrow historic streets. Beyond the city, the Cotswolds extend across western Oxfordshire, where limestone villages and gentle hills shape the landscape. The Thames Valley introduces riverside scenery and traditional market towns, while Blenheim Palace near Woodstock stands among the county's most remarkable architectural landmarks. Oxfordshire's character comes from the close relationship between its scholarly heritage, historic estates and the beauty of the surrounding countryside.

Short answers from what the venues have told us.
Can anyone book an Oxford college for a wedding?
Several colleges, including Christ Church, Exeter and Keble, take external bookings, but each sets its own policy. Halls, gardens and common rooms are usually available outside term time or in the evenings. A specialist Oxford event agency can check several colleges at once.
How does the Oxfordshire guide differ from the Cotswolds guide?
The Cotswolds guide covers the whole limestone belt, which runs from Gloucestershire through Oxfordshire into Worcestershire. The Oxfordshire guide adds Oxford itself, the Thames Valley and the Vale of the White Horse, which lie outside the belt. For venues in Burford, Chipping Norton or Charlbury, both guides apply.
Is Blenheim Palace available for private weddings?
Yes, through the Blenheim Estate events team. The state rooms, Great Hall and formal gardens can be used for exclusive events, but the rooms cannot be altered, so producers need heritage experience. Availability is limited and dates are booked far ahead.
