The Amalfi Coast venues on 5 Star Weddings take weddings from April to October, and May, June and September are the months couples ask for most. July and August bring the warmest evenings and the heaviest pressure on roads, rooms and prices. The right month depends on which of those you mind least.
What the venues say about the season
- Palazzo Suriano, Vietri sul Mare: April to October, with May, June and September the most requested, and selected winter dates, December included, on request. It advises booking 12 to 18 months ahead.
- Villa La Rondinaia, Ravello: its listing gives April to October as the season for outdoor celebrations. Dates the villa accepts weddings are to confirm.
- Hotel Raito, Vietri sul Mare: the outdoor pool and the poolside grill and pizzeria run from May to September, while its three sea-view halls give an indoor dinner in any month.
Light and timing
Ceremonies on the coast are usually timed back from sunset, so that drinks catch the last of the light. At the eastern end of the coast, around Vietri sul Mare, the sun sets at roughly these times (local time, 2026):
- mid-April: 19:40
- mid-May: 20:10
- 21 June: 20:35
- mid-August: 20:00
- mid-September: 19:10
- mid-October: 18:20
- after the clocks go back on 25 October: about 17:00
On a cliff or in a valley the sun can drop behind the mountains earlier than the clock says, so ask the venue when the light leaves its terrace.

Month by month
April and May
The terraces are green and the lemon groves in leaf, and the sea is still cool for swimming. Evenings on a terrace can be fresh, so plan a wrap for guests or a covered space for dinner. Showers are more likely at this end of the season than in high summer.
June
Long evenings, warm days and the sea warming up. June books early for the same reasons couples choose it, so this is the month to secure first.
July and August
The busiest weeks on the coast. ANAS, which runs the SS163 coast road, can apply alternate number-plate days from April to September, between 10:00 and 18:00, on dates it publishes each year; taxis and cars with drivers are exempt.
In Ravello, the Ravello Festival holds summer concerts on the belvedere of Villa Rufolo from early July into September, so rooms in town are in demand. Ceremonies move to late afternoon, and transfers need the most planning.
September
Summer warmth with longer shadows and the sea at its warmest after August. It is among the most requested months, so treat it as booking like June.
October
Quieter and cooler, with shorter days and the clock change at the end of the month. Some seasonal hotels close as it ends, so check where guests will stay. Travelmar runs its ferries all year, with a reduced timetable from 7 September in 2026 (Travelmar timetable).

Matching the month to the venue
The edges of the season favour venues with a large indoor fallback. At Hotel Raito the halls seat up to 250, so an April or October wedding can move inside whole. Palazzo Suriano seats 50 indoors against 90 in the gardens, so a larger party there is safer in the settled months.
High summer favours shade and short walks. Guests reach Villa La Rondinaia on foot from Ravello’s main square, about 350 metres beyond its private gate, which is worth timing for an August afternoon.
Weekday or weekend
A weekday wedding in high season has two practical advantages: hotels and suppliers are less stretched, and the road restrictions that ANAS publishes have in some years applied to weekends in the shoulder months. Ask your venue whether it prices weekdays differently; none of our three venues publishes a seasonal or weekday rate.

Questions couples ask
Can we marry on the Amalfi Coast in winter?
At some venues. Palazzo Suriano accepts selected winter dates, including December, on request. Elsewhere, check which hotels are open before you fix a date.
How far ahead should we book?
Palazzo Suriano advises 12 to 18 months. For June and September, book the venue and the main block of rooms together.
Is August a bad choice?
Not if you plan for it: a late-afternoon ceremony, guests staying close to the venue and drivers booked for the evening. It is the month with the least room for improvising.
