On the Amalfi Coast, exclusive use can mean a clifftop villa taken for several nights, a palazzo hired for the wedding, or an entire hotel closed to other guests. The records on 5 Star Weddings cover only a handful of venues here, so this guide sets out what they say, where they are silent and what to ask before a date is held.
Eight venues are filed under the Amalfi Coast, and one more, JK Place Capri, sits across the water on Capri. Of the eight, four are recorded as offering exclusive use and four have no recorded answer. JK Place Capri is recorded as offering it. No venue is recorded as declining. A blank is not a no: it means the answer is not published, so it is a question to put to the venue.
What the flag means, and what it does not
A record marked yes means the venue says it can be taken exclusively. It does not mean every date, space or package qualifies, and it does not say what is included. Treat it as the start of a conversation, and ask for the terms in writing for your date.
Three arrangements in the records
- A villa or estate taken whole. Villa La Rondinaia in Ravello is recorded as taking the six suites and rooms, the gardens, the terraces and the pool, reserved for one party, sleeping 12. The listing indicates a price from €15,000 per night with a minimum stay; the villa does not publish the rate on its own site, and the number of nights is not recorded. Ca’ P’a Casa Privata at Praiano is recorded as taking the villa, gardens, pool and terraces, with seven bedrooms sleeping up to 18. Its listing indicates estate hire from €25,000 for a three-night stay, with catering, wines, flowers, décor and the civil ceremony priced separately for each wedding.
- A palazzo hired for the wedding. Palazzo Suriano at Vietri sul Mare is recorded as available for exclusive use as the whole venue, with nine bedrooms. Its listing indicates venue hire from €5,000 to €12,000, depending on how exclusive the day is. The record does not say what each level of exclusivity includes, which is the first thing to ask.
- A whole hotel. Belmond Hotel Caruso in Ravello is recorded as offering a takeover of the entire property, which has 50 rooms and suites; the price is on enquiry. Across the water, JK Place Capri is recorded as reserving the whole hotel for the wedding party: 22 rooms and 8 suites, the garden, the outdoor pool and the JKitchen restaurant and lounge bar, with in-house catering and the price on enquiry.

Reading the prices
Three of the four Amalfi Coast venues recorded as exclusive use indicate a figure, and all three are marked indicative. They measure different things: a hire fee that rises with exclusivity, a rate per night, and a price for a three-night stay. They should not be set side by side, and none of them says what food and drink would add. The other exclusive-use venues, including JK Place Capri, give their price on enquiry.
Where guests sleep
All eight venues filed under the Amalfi Coast have rooms recorded, as does JK Place Capri, so exclusive use here usually means the wedding party sleeps on the property. The numbers are small at the villas: 12 at Villa La Rondinaia and 18 at Ca’ P’a Casa Privata. Larger parties will need to ask where the remaining guests stay and how they travel to the venue.
What the records do not say
- Villa La Rondinaia’s minimum stay is recorded without a number of nights, and none of the five exclusive-use records gives hours, music cut-offs or what the hire includes beyond the spaces named.
- Catering is recorded in-house at Villa La Rondinaia and JK Place Capri; the records for the other exclusive-use venues are not clear enough to state, so ask who cooks and whether an outside caterer is allowed.
- Hotel Raito, Hotel Santa Caterina, Palazzo Avino and Villa Cimbrone have no recorded answer on exclusive use. They may offer it; the records do not say.
What to ask a venue to confirm
- Does exclusive use apply to the date and package being considered, and which buildings and grounds does it cover?
- Is the figure a hire fee, a nightly rate or a stay price, and are VAT, service, cleaning and the civil ceremony included?
- What is the minimum stay, and what are the hours, including set-up, supplier access and music?
- Is catering in-house, outside or either, and are drinks and suppliers tied to a list?
- How many guests can sleep on site, and how many can attend the ceremony and the meal?
- Is any restaurant, spa or terrace open to other guests on the day, or on the days either side?
A written answer for the specific date is worth more than the general record.
Venues recorded as exclusive use
Belmond Hotel Caruso, Ca’ P’a Casa Privata, Palazzo Suriano and Villa La Rondinaia are filed under the Amalfi Coast, and JK Place Capri is on Capri. The four with no recorded answer are Hotel Raito, Hotel Santa Caterina, Palazzo Avino and Villa Cimbrone. All Amalfi Coast venues are on the Amalfi Coast page.
Choosing and confirming
Read the Amalfi Coast wedding guide for the setting, then the guides on costs, marrying legally, the best time of year, getting there, rain and food and wine. Figures are as published by each venue and recorded on 5 Star Weddings, and each should be confirmed with the venue before it is relied on.
