Glam Events in Tuscany is a full-service planning and design agency for couples who want to marry in Italy. Ilaria Menichetti started it in 2009. In 2015 she met Lara Paoloni at a wedding, where Ilaria was the planner and Lara was events manager of the hotel hosting it, and the two have run the agency together since. Both now hold the title Production and Design director.
The team has seven women. Raisa looks after event production and graphic design, Klaudia handles concierge work and guest management, Martina and Francesca run production and supervision, and Rachele manages social media. On the day a dedicated planner and assistant planners stay with the couple for the whole event. The agency says it limits the number of weddings it takes each year so that it can give each couple its full time.
“We firmly believe in a qualitative approach: we limit the number of events to organise every year, so we can devote all of our time to you.”
Glam Events in Tuscany
Most of its published weddings are in Tuscany, in villas, castles and country estates such as La Foce, Castello del Nero, Villa di Maiano, Villa di Geggiano, Villa Cetinale and Borgo Santo Pietro, plus Florence itself. It has also planned weddings on Lake Como, in Puglia masserie, on the Amalfi Coast and in Veneto. Ilaria was born in Tuscany and does much of the venue scouting. Lara, who started in luxury travel, describes herself as a local with a strong interest in food and wine.
A typical celebration runs over several days: a welcome dinner built around Italian food, the wedding day with its gala dinner, and a third-day brunch, barbecue or pool party. The work covers engagements, elopements, vow renewals and large multi-day weddings, and Ilaria and Lara will travel to meet couples in person; they list New York, Dubai and London among the cities they have visited.
On design, the team produces each visual concept itself, from the colour palette to the structures that carry floral installations, and works only with Italian suppliers it has chosen. Its published tables range from chandeliers hung in trees and long tables under willows to restrained white-flower ceremonies and trattoria-style welcome dinners.
