The day after the wedding needs one fixed point, a late lunch, and a pool for everyone who stayed on. Of the venues we list on the Amalfi Coast, Hotel Raito has an outdoor pool and a spa with a heated indoor pool, Villa La Rondinaia has a cliff-top pool that belongs to the party for the length of the booking, and Palazzo Suriano has a garden hot tub in summer.
Where the pools are
Hotel Raito, above Vietri sul Mare, has an outdoor pool with a grill and pizzeria beside it from May to September. Its Thalea SPA adds 300 square metres with a heated indoor pool, a Jacuzzi, a sauna and a Turkish bath, and a 300 square metre solarium facing the Gulf of Salerno.
Villa La Rondinaia, on the cliff below Ravello, is booked by one party at a time, so the pool, its solarium and the pool house with its sauna are yours for the stay. The villa sleeps 12, which makes the day after a house party for the closest guests.
Palazzo Suriano in Vietri sul Mare has no pool, but has a hot tub in the gardens in summer, and its nine bedrooms and terraces suit a quieter morning after.
Guests staying elsewhere
On exclusive hire the question is simple: you decide who comes. In a hotel that is open to other guests, day access for people not staying there is the hotel’s decision, so ask before you invite them, and ask whether there is a charge.
For guests in other towns, the Travelmar line links Positano, Amalfi and Vietri sul Mare by sea, which can be easier than the coast road in summer.
Out of season
An outdoor pool on this coast is a May to September plan. For a wedding in October, Hotel Raito’s heated indoor pool and spa carry the day; at La Rondinaia, ask whether the pool is heated and until when.
What to plan
- A late, simple lunch by the pool: grill, pizza or a cold table, with someone in charge of the bill.
- Towels and loungers for the real number, not the room count.
- Shade, sun cream and something for children.
- Late check-out for guests leaving in the afternoon, and a place to change.
- Quiet: in a hotel open to others, the day after is not the second party.

Is the outdoor pool open in October?
At Hotel Raito the outdoor pool season is May to September; the spa’s indoor pool covers the rest of the year. At other venues, ask for the dates.
Can guests from other hotels use the pool?
On exclusive hire, yes. In a hotel open to the public, ask the hotel first.
