Rocco Daniele Photography

Rocco Daniele is an Italian wedding photographer who describes himself as a lifelong cinema enthusiast, and he has been documenting weddings for more than a decade. He is based in Italy and works throughout Europe and beyond, and he takes a limited number of weddings each year.

He calls his approach editorial in its visual sensitivity and documentary in its instinct. For portraits he gives calm, simple direction, so couples never need to know how to pose; once the day is under way he steps back and lets things happen. His galleries move easily between the two: quiet black and white frames of a bride getting ready or two grooms in an embrace, guests singing in a castle courtyard at night, a couple leaving church under confetti, and wide views of the setting, including aerial views of a villa and its gardens in Umbria.

“Not a performance. Not a formula. A story that could only be yours.”

Rocco Daniele

His published weddings run the length of Italy. In Calabria there are celebrations at Tenuta Klopè, at Castello di Serragiumenta and by the coast at San Lucido; further afield, Castello San Basilio near Matera, Villa Il Poggiale and an intimate villa wedding in Tuscany, Torre di Pila in Umbria, and Villa Cipressi on Lake Como, where some of the couple's portraits were taken from a wooden boat on the lake. The portfolio also includes the wedding of Luigi and Davide at Castello di Serragiumenta.

For destination weddings he plans his travel carefully and normally arrives ahead of the day, so a delayed flight never becomes part of the story. Before the wedding he works through timings, light and the key moments with the couple's planner, videographer and creative team.

A full-day collection includes at least 500 photographs, each selected and edited individually, delivered in high resolution through a private online gallery ready to download and share. Standard delivery is within 8 to 12 weeks, and when it is part of the proposal a small preview follows shortly after the wedding.
